Midge Comes Home From the Hospital

Bringing our little beauty home from the hospital.

She wore my Feltman Brothers dress that I wore home from the hospital, 26 years ago.  And a pearl bracelet with a monogrammed charm I got from Monogram Lane.

I just love these sweet little shoes.

Midge is finally here!

Our beautiful baby girl, "Midge," has finally arrived!

She was born Saturday, June 5, at 2:19 am, weighed 7 lbs, 10 oz, and was 19 inches long.

We are totally in love!!!

A few pics from the hospital:

One of our first moments together.

Happy Birthday Midge!

Bathing beauty! (I know, I just had to priss her up a bit after my husband said she looked like a bandit!)

With my mom, "Grammy."

Isn't she just delicious?!

Tour of My Home: Entry Way & Formal Sitting Room

This is the first in a series of posts on my home.  I think how a person decorates says a lot about them, and it's also just a fun way to show your personal style.

This is my entry way:  well, it's not really an entry way, it's more of an entry wall.
My walls are painted metallic gold, yes that's right, metallic gold.  And yes, it's a neutral!  I just love it.
I found the mirror at a garage sale.  The dishes with the peacock in the center are from Vera Bradley, and the others are my formal china:  Kate Spade Corona Grove Aqua.  I'm totally obsessed with them still! The blue globe lamp is from my grandparents house.

The front room in my house is an "L" shaped room.  Above is what you see when you walk in the door.  To the left is my formal sitting area and behind that is our dining table.  That area is not really how I want it to look yet, I want a new table & need a mirror on a blank wall.

Here is the formal sitting area:

I love my green furniture!  Can you believe it is from Urban Outfitters?  The fabulous throw is from a trip to Mexico last summer.

Did you notice a few of the things I like to collect in the pictures?  China!  Decorating & style books.  Decorative trays.  Antique fans - although I haven't found a lot of these in colors I like.  Colorful teacups.  PEACOCKS!  Ha!  I told my friend once that I have to try really hard not to be the creepy peacock lady with way too much peacock paraphernalia in her house!  I just love them.  My Christmas tree is peacock themed.

On a side note, I love silk flowers.  I know a lot of people hate them, and rightfully so.  Silk flowers have to look very realistic to work, I think.
